Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Donations to this program can be dropped off at City Hall. For Every $25 donated to the Imagination Library, a child will receive 12 books per year to keep. With an estimate of around 100 eligible children, and if all Echo children under 5 signed up, our half of the annual cost needed is $1250. The Rippey foundation is providing the other half.

Thanks to Cecili Longhorn, Stanfield Library Director, for organizing a Christmas Bingo fund-raiser for both Echo and Stanfield Libraries to raise matching funds for the Imagination Library program. A total of $769 was raised. Thanks to Walmart DC, Walmart Super Store, Janie Enright and Emily Spike for prize donation.

Livability and Beautification

George Murdock received more voter support from Echo residents (66.4%) than any other area of the county in the November election and asked us to extend his appreciation. George has been donating to our beautification programs for the last few years.

Livability and Beautification

Although we are not participating in the National America in Bloom program again this year, we are taking donations to help with the cost of beautification projects and have already received donations.

Beautification program donations make the floral displays and other beautification projects possible. Please consider making a donation no matter how small this year. Funds are being raised for downtown art, Thielsen Street walking path, and park improvements. Suggestions for other projects are welcome.

St. Peters Church

The first-ever Oktoberfest; raised over $5700 towards the St. Peters community project. Since, volunteers have worked cleanup dates, produced a second Oktoberfest and held an open house for 150 people to see and talk about what to do with the church as an historical and unique asset in our community.

Kiwanis volunteers have put in many dozens of hours in both labor and organizing the effort to restore and revive the Church. In December, a seed-fund drive began which was answered with several contributions including an Anonymous $5000 cash donation.
